How it all began: Grote Fahrrad Rossbacher and the birth of Radmarkt
It was a bright spring morning in April 2023 when Grote Fahrrad Rossbacher stood on Cap de Formentor in Mallorca – sweaty, happy and with a problem: His racing bike had developed a stubborn gear shift along the way, and he had no idea how to adjust it again. The nearest workshop was 30 kilometers away, his phone battery almost dead, and the online guides he found helped him about as much as an umbrella in a hurricane.
At that moment, between frustration and fascination with the breathtaking landscape, the idea for Radmarkt.com was born: A place where cyclists find real, practical help – from people who are in the saddle themselves and know the problems from their own experience.
The Community Vision: Together instead of alone
What impressed Grote most on his travels were not the mountains or beaches – it was the people. In every country he met cyclists who shared their tips, revealed their favorite routes and helped him when something broke. He was part of countless Facebook groups, Strava clubs and local cycling communities.
The realization: The knowledge is out there – it's just too scattered, too disorganized, too difficult to find.
Radmarkt.com aims to bundle, structure and make this knowledge accessible to everyone. Not as a commercial platform that wants to sell you the latest gadget, but as an honest community of cyclists for cyclists.
